《女人的力量》The Power Of Women

她,麥玉珍,在越南聽大家都說嫁到台灣就是嫁到天堂,1995年從越南嫁至台灣彰化,並生下兩名子女。可是這段異國婚姻並不美滿,最後在2002年離婚作為收場,帶著破碎的心離開在異鄉唯一賴以為生的家。如今天堂路斷,對著茫茫人海,她將何去何從?

但影片中,玉珍沒有因此而被擊倒,她反而成立了台灣新移民協會,聯合與其他在台灣的外籍姊妹的力量,以直接實際的行動,幫助更多需要關心及協助的新住民女性。玉珍不僅為每個需要支援的姊妹來回奔波,奉獻出她大半的時間與精力;關心陪伴自己的兒女,以及探望她前夫的婆婆,同樣也是她生活的一部分。多年來,個性熱心及豐富情感的玉珍,以女人、母親及女兒的三者身份,讓她離婚後的生活,繼續賣力走下去,同樣精彩動人。台灣或許不是每個人的天堂,但我們可以見到玉珍這位台灣的新住民,勇敢不怕困境,生命依然找出新方向,活出自己的獨立與美麗。

吳金燕,1958年生,電信業者。因參與影片配音工作對影像有初步認識。2008年,首次參與紀錄片拍攝訓練,製作出處女作「女人的力量」。導演表示:回顧一年來的拍攝過程,悲喜參半,悲的是同為女人,何以她如此艱辛,受盡折磨,喜的是她為何如此堅強,任何困難都擊不倒她要幫助「同鄉人」的信念!因為製作這部影片,我有幸參與新住民女性的生活,了解她們的想法,也發現她們想要融入台灣社會試圖改變命運的努力,當遇到挫折時又能堅毅的站出來展現力量。

《海的另一邊》The Other Side of the Ocean

惠英,20年前一位遠嫁來台的泰北外籍配偶。經過她多年的努力,終於開創了自己在台灣的穩定生活。但20年來心繫遠方故鄉的惠英,該如何為海的另一邊的家人,努力改善原生家庭的生活?

04年,本片導演與惠英的相遇,完成了一部她工作生活在台灣的紀錄影片。05年導演代替惠英歸鄉播映紀錄片的行動,帶出了一群位於泰北,沒有身分的國軍後裔之真實處境,與被迫得離鄉背井去打工的求生存面貌。一對隔著萬里之距,彼此牽掛的母女,因為鏡頭的紀錄,大陸內地的國境邊疆與太平洋上的寶島,跨越了之間的藩離,深厚的親子情感終於再次連結。

觀眾將透過本片,看見了相隔兩地異鄉的母女,藉由真實影像的再現播映,得以撫平思念的渴望,慰藉心靈深處的遺憾,再次印證了紀錄電影的價值與力量。

Twenty years ago, Hei-Ying was married to Taiwan from northern Thailand. She kept working hard for better and stable life. However, she missed her home very much. How can she improve her own family’s condition? And how would she face a series of accidents of the family in Taiwan?

In 2004, the director met Hei-Ying and made this story. In 2005, the director took this film to Thailand and shown to Hei-Ying’s family. Meanwhile, this work also found a hiding history of Taiwan soldiers’ descendants who are living in northern Thailand without identity. It’s a story about a woman’s dream, A mother’s hope, and a group of lost warriors.

林曉宣,從事廣告設計的工作。2003年,參加客家委員會的影像訓練班,之後,拍攝紀錄片,成為她行走於這個城市的一種方式;從鏡頭看世界,也讓她對周遭生活有了最有創意的解讀。

Shirley Lin worked in advertisement design. In 2003, Council for Hakka Affairs held a video class, attending the class open another window for her. After that, she was fascinated by Documentary; shooting documentary became another way of me to live in the city.  Viewing the world through the lens, make her has a creative interpretation of surrounding life.

《自力更生》Children Of Invention

從香港移民至美國的愛蓮,與遠在香港工作的丈夫之間關係日漸疏離。原本所居住房子因為付不出貸款而遭到法拍,愛蓮被迫只好帶著兩名孩子,非法暫時住在波士頓郊區的樣品屋公寓中。為了解決生計問題,愛蓮只得加入直銷工作。某晚,愛蓮突然失蹤沒有返家,也沒有人知道她的兩個孩子獨自在家。無人照料的小兄妹只好自力救濟,決定運用自己的創意賺取生活費…

華裔導演陳子翱以美國尋常的華人家庭為題材,透過影片中單親母親的現實遭遇,及小孩子的童真觀點,深刻描繪出華人移民的處境。導演貼近生活的寫實拍攝手法,讓本片入選2009日舞影展,是近年來美國最受期待的華裔新銳導演。

After being evicted, hardworking single mom Elaine Cheng tries to maintain a normal life for her children, Raymond and Tina. Elaine juggles a number of jobs, including working for a questionable pyramid scheme. When Elaine doesn’t return home one night, nobody knows the kids are home alone, and they are left to fend for themselves. As the days pass, Raymond, a budding inventor, realizes he needs to come up with a plan to take care of his little sister. Two young children living outside Boston are left to fend for themselves when their mother gets embroiled in a pyramid scheme and disappears.

陳子翱,生於美國芝加哥,有個父親來自香港,母親是新加坡的華人家庭。畢業於哥倫比亞大學(Columbia University)電影系。2006年,他的第二部關於亞美裔題材的短片《Windowbreaker》,入選2007日舞影展及紐約翠貝卡電影節。2009年《自力更生》為他的第一部劇情長片,故事內容部份取材於導演的童年生活,再次入選日舞影展,並獲得波士頓獨立電影節評審團大獎、夏威夷國際影展評審團特別獎、納許維爾影展特別獎等13個影展獎項,以及選為洛杉磯亞太電影節之開幕影片。

Tze Chun was born in Chicago, and received his bachelor’s degree in film studies at Columbia University. Tze’s short film “Windowbreaker,” was selected to play at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival, as well as over thirty other high-profile international festivals. Based on two years of research and interviews, Tze is reteaming with “Children of Invention” producer Mynette Louie to develop the film. The project was recently selected for the 2009 Sundance Creative Producing Fellowship. Tze also works as a painter and visual artist.

《羅娜的沈默》Lorna’s Silence

阿爾巴尼亞籍的羅娜,夢想要與男友在比利時開間快餐店,因此請朋友法比歐策劃一場假結婚,讓她與有毒癮重症的克勞迪假結婚之後,即可取得比利時的公民身份。順利取得公民權的羅娜,為了快餐店的資金,決定再一次假結婚 嫁給亦要取得比利時護照的俄羅斯人。為了讓第二場假結婚的交易可以盡快完成,法比歐準備除掉克勞迪,以便一勞永逸;但不希望克勞迪會為此犧牲生命的羅娜,百般拖延阻止。但終究背後有更大利益的交易約定已無法改變,必定得要履行;此刻,羅娜還會繼續保持沈默嗎?

長期關注於歐洲社會議題及底層生活的坎城名導達頓兄弟,再度處理移民議題。透過移民者羅娜的觀點,一層層地剝開了非法移民背後的複雜問題,不給予任何道德批判,而是以寫實影像風格挖掘出深藏於現實困境中的人性情感。比起過往達頓兄弟的眾多作品,本片依舊是劇情簡潔鋒利,但卻多了描述劇中人物之情感真摯動人的大師之作。

In order to become the owner of a snack bar with her boyfriend, Lorna, a young Albanian woman living in Belgium, becomes an accomplice to a diabolical plan devised by mobster Fabio. Fabio has orchestrated a sham marriage between her and Claudy. The marriage allows her to obtain Belgian citizenship and then marry a Russian Mafioso willing to pay a lot of money to acquire the same quickly. However, for this second marriage to be possible, Fabio has planned to kill Claudy. Will Lorna keep silent?

尚-皮耶‧達頓與盧克‧達頓是當代比利時最著名的兄弟檔電影導演。兩人從1978年的紀錄片攝製開始,共同編寫劇本及執導的合作關係至今。作品常以手持攝影的寫實風格,再現底層民眾及邊緣人物的現實處境。重要作品有:1999年《美麗羅賽塔》及2005年《孩子》皆獲得坎城影展金棕櫚大獎, 2008最新作品《羅娜的沉默》則獲得坎城影展最佳劇本獎。

Jean-Pierre Dardenne and his younger brother Luc Dardenne are a critically acclaimed Belgian filmmaking duo. They write, produce and direct their films together. The Dardennes began making narrative and documentary films in the late 1970s, but they first came to international attention in the mid-1990s with La Promesse (The Promise). They won their first major international film prize when Rosetta won the Palme d’Or at the 1999 Cannes Film Festival. In 2002, Olivier Gourmet won Best Actor at Cannes for the Dardennes’ ‘Le Fils’ (“The Son”) In 2005, they won the Palme d’Or a second time for their film L’Enfant (The Child). Their latest film, Le silence de Lorna (The Silence of Lorna), won best screenplay at the 2008 Cannes festival a.

《家事美人》Apron Strings

印度裔美食烹飪節目主持人安妮塔,不與家族聯繫已有20年。她的獨子麥可為了解自己的家人,決定隱藏身分到阿姨塔拉的香料餐廳擔任學徒。經營傳統糕餅店的蘿娜,為了袒護好賭成癮的兒子,而與女兒漸行漸遠。本片描述兩個家庭穿越兩種文化,用美食與愛傳遞出母親們的勇氣,讓隱藏多年的家族秘密與誤解,以及母子之間糾葛複雜的關係,皆得以化解包容。

曾拿下多個國際影展最佳短片的紐西蘭女導演,首部劇情長片以食物作為故事中最重要的元素,企圖隱喻勾勒出多元種族社會的各種文化,如何找到相互溝通的橋梁。劇中鮮活入物角色有多處令人會心幽默的互動,充分表達出種族、性別和家庭關係的溫暖包容,令人溫暖感動而認同。

Apron Strings is a story of three women in two families and two cultures set New Zealand. Hard working Lorna must not only deal with her unemployed stay-at-home son Barry and his chronic gambling addiction, but also reckon with a tragic past that haunts them both. Their co-dependant relationship is as habitual as any addiction. For the stylish Anita, the host of her own TV cooking show, everything comes to a head when her son Michael decides to meet her estranged sister Tara, and delve into a past that she cannot bear to face. And for the more traditional Tara, Michael’s arrival in her life opens up old wounds that challenge her seemingly peaceful life as a spinster. Food and love are intertwined in this tale of two mothers who must find the courage to confront the secrets and misunderstandings of the past, in order

to set their sons free.

席瑪尤瑞,出生於薩摩亞獨立國之薩瓦伊島,1974年她與家人移民至紐西蘭。1996年編導第一部短片《O Tamaiti》(The Children)獲得紐西蘭電影電視獎之最佳短片;1997年《Velvert Dreams》獲得加拿大紐克頓影展最佳紀錄片;2001年《Still Life》獲得加拿大蒙特婁影展最佳短片。《家事美人》是她的第一部劇情長片。

Sima Urale migrated from Samoa to New Zealand with her family in 1974, Urale is not only influenced by her Samoan heritage but also by the urban cultural mix. Frustrated with stereotypical media representations of Polynesian culture, Urale looks beyond superficial characterisation and delves into complex social issues and family relationships in both Polynesian and pakeha culture.

Urale’ first short film《O Tamaiti》(The Children), won the Best Short Film at New Zealand Film and TV Awards in 1996. In 1997, she directed her first documentary Velvert Dreams won Best Documentary Award at the Yorkton International Film Festival in Canada. Apron Strings is her first feature length film.

《無聲歲月》 The Silence of Hand Puppets

故事的主角是出生於民國18年,今年已經81歲的古冊布袋戲師父-陳鼎盛。陳老師父精湛的演戲技巧、口白聲韻曾極盛一時,但隨著家道中落,那些輝煌的過去與回憶,在現實生活裡除了牆上掛著的照片和細心收藏的海岱仙合照外,其實所剩無幾了。隨著歲月的流逝,古冊戲這項傳統技藝也漸漸的消逝無聲…。

This is the story about the chief Chen Ding-Sheng, 81-year-old, who learned hand puppet show as an apprentice to the master Huang Hai-Tai. His outstanding performance was popular at the time, but this old traditional art is almost disappearing now. What Chen Ding-Sheng has are those old photos to remind.

施合峰,1980年生,雲林縣斗六人,2002年畢業於世新大學廣電系電視組,2006年畢業於台南藝術大學音像紀錄所。

Shih Ho-Feng was born in 1980 in Yunlin County. He graduated with a MFA degree from the Graduate Institute of Sound and Image Studies in Documentary, Tainan National University of the Arts. He now works as a free-lance filmmaker.

每一位農民都是國家的園丁;他們耕作的土地都是國家的後花園。

阿善師,自己種植柳丁園,收成時節還會幫忙其他村人採收及運送柳丁,近年來無師自通完成數首跟柳丁、木瓜等作物有關的歌曲。隨著柳丁近年來的供過於求,政府提倡「廢園」補助計畫,一些農民也多半會配合申請。雖然農民們也會不捨,但似乎也是非走不可的一條路了,只是,未來,他們的未來會是甚麼樣子呢?儘管如此,阿善師還是願意樂觀地,歌唱著…。

Farmers are just like the gardeners in the country, and they grow up the lives for our land. Farmer A-Shan has his own orange farm, and he would go to help other farmers at the harvest season. At his usual time, he likes to make songs about harvest. However, in order to control the crops, the government promotes farmers to stop growing by giving subsidy. It seems the only way they can accept, but how about the future? No matter how the future would be, A-Shan will keep on singing.

柯能源,1974年生,高雄人,國立台南藝術大學-音像紀錄研究所MFA學位畢業。

Ko Neng-Yuan was born in Kaoshuang, 1974. He graduated with a MFA degree from the Graduate Institute of Sound and Image Studies in Documentary, Tainan National University of the Arts. He now works as a free-lance filmmaker.

《溪水濁》 Invisible River

濁水溪,嘉南平原生命的源頭。沿著溪走,有小鎮熱鬧、農人殷勤,有市場叫賣、學梓朗誦。她是一幅畫的情感,一段土地的歌聲。上游有喝濁水溪水長大的人們—〈食水〉,中游是溪畔西瓜農談起盜採沙石後的塵沙滿天—〈飛沙〉,還有六輕進駐濁水溪口排放黑煙造成酸雨—〈雨烏〉,最後下游,流向黑水溝的母親之河被吞沒在乾枯的出海口—〈海口〉。只是,時代進步了,經濟發達了,昔日百米濁水溪的寬闊身影卻逐漸枯瘦?

Chou-Shui River, the mother of the Chia-Nan field, people live with this river. There are three stories in the up, middle and down river. In the up river, people share the experience of “eating water”; in the middle river, the watermelon farmer talked about the flying sand. And in the down river,  as time pass by, the nation and economy are prosperous while it is also the time our water, Chou-Shui River, has dried up.

陳南宏 南投縣人,編著有文化觀察文集《焦土之春2004備忘錄》一書,出版有《河》賴和文學音樂專輯,擔任製作人與詞曲創作者。

《戒指》 Grandma’s Ring

十六歲時,我離開了北港、離開雲林、離開了故鄉,帶著阿嬤送我的一枚戒指,以及在媽祖廟祈求的一份平安與期待。自此之後,媽祖是我記憶中熟悉的想望,卻也是理解中的陌生。帶著回鄉的探詢眼光,我想再仔細看看我的阿嬤,身邊的家人,以及記憶中媽祖的今日樣貌,特別是心裡對媽祖的那份依靠。這也是眾多北港子弟、雲林子弟回望故鄉的熟悉與陌生,一段遇見自己的旅程。

When I was a teenager and left my home town Beigang, I carried a ring from my granny who wishes that Mazu might bless me all the time. Almost two decades later, I go back to see my grandma and understand her story, and realize her religious. And of course, it’s a trip for me to coming home.

黃琇怡,1979年生,雲林縣北港人。自靜宜大學英國語文學系畢業之後,進入台南藝術大學就讀音像紀錄研究所,並於2007年畢業。從2003年至今,拍攝過幾部紀錄片,並於2004年開始參與南方影展工作,同時也開始參與影像教育一職。

Huang Hsiu-Yi was born in Yunlin, 1979. She graduated with a MFA degree from the Graduate Institute of Sound and Image Studies in Documentary, Tainan National University of the Arts. He now works as a free-lance filmmaker.

我們或許都是植物。植物有根,離不開自己的土地,待不慣異鄉的泥土。大地以不同的樣貌循環出現。一百年多前,口湖地區潟湖與濕地交錯,被紀錄在史料中。漸漸潟湖消失了,良田出現。二十年前,上天決定把它收回,良田消失,濕地再現 。旅人視之為美好的風景,充滿生命與曠野的呼喚,卻是當地居民生存的苦惱。在那美好的背後,是有人承擔了那苦難。雖然大地得以休養生息,但離鄉的子弟卻得牢記家鄉的貧瘠。

The earth revolves in different appearance. Before more than one hundred years, Kou-Hu was lagoon and wetland interlock, then the lagoon vanished gradually, the farmland appear. 20years age, the God decides to take it back, so the farmlands disappear again. The land which is regarded as the most beautiful scenery by the travelers is yet a distress to the residents for surviving and a poor home to the children who have left.

And maybe we humans are all plants that couldn’t leave our own root.

黃信堯 ,1973年出生, 居住於台南縣七股鄉,國立台南藝術大學音像紀錄研究所創作碩士,目前為獨立紀錄片工作者、「台北市紀錄片從業人員職業工會」常務理事。作品《唬爛三小》獲金穗獎最佳紀錄片,近年作品受邀國際映演如:《多格威斯麵》曾於德國卡塞爾文件展映演(Kassel documenta,為世界三大文件展,與威尼斯文件展齊名),《台中九個九》則獲邀至紐約當代藝術中心(MOMA)作國際交流映演。

Huang A-Yao was born in Tainan, 1973. He graduated with a MFA degree from the Graduate Institute of Sound and Image Studies in Documentary, Tainan National University of the Arts. He now works as a free-lance filmmaker and a director in Documentary Media Worker Union. His work “Bluffing” won the best documentary in Golden Harvest Award.

《莫比烏斯》Möbius

有一種帶子叫做莫比烏斯帶,乍看之下是環狀的,但它其實只有一個面。如果放一隻螞蟻在上面走,牠將會永遠無法停止爬行。因為在這條帶子上,所有的終點都是起點。人好像也是這樣。地球上六十億人走在這條莫比烏斯帶上,有時候男人聚集在帶子的一端,有時候女人聚集在另外一端,然而中間總是會有一群流浪的人,不屬於任何一方,持續的走著。我常常覺得,我也在流浪。

本片透過第一及第三人稱的交互觀點,將性別議題中的歧視與認同,以簡短有力量的方式來訴說。影片中的旁白述說,透露出作者對於跨性別議題的思索,進而勇敢地面對自身對於性向的認同,清楚不迴避地闡述了紀錄片應有的觀點及立場,是部輕薄卻紮實的紀錄短片。

There’s a strip called Möbius strip. It seems like a ring, actually, it has only one surface. If putting an ant on the strip, it will never stop crawling. All the beginnings are also destinations on the strip. Humans seem alike the ant on the strip. Worldwide 60 billion people walking on a Möbius strip. Sometimes, men congregate on one side, while women congregate on the other side. However, there are strays keep walking in the middle. They don’t belong to anywhere. I usually feel I am straying.

洪瑋婷,目前就讀政治大學廣播電視學系四年級,作品除了紀錄片《莫比烏斯》以外,又在六月創作了第一部劇情短片《通話保留》。目前正持續創作中。

Hung Wei-Ting is a senior of Cheng-Chi University Radio and Television Department. After this documentary ”Möbius”, she created the first feature short film “The number you dialed is busy” this June. Now she’s keep working.

 

 

《反擊地心引力》Fighting the Weight

沈重的槓鈴在狹小的空間裡起起落落,舉起動達一百公斤槓鈴的卻只是一群國高中生,年紀最小的甚至只是國小學生。究竟「舉重」對這群小小大力士有著什麼意義?是什麼支持他們離家,集中住宿訓練?而又是什麼讓兩位教練不惜付出一切,賣房子籌費經費,來支持這16位小選手的所有費用?

本片雖有當下流行的運動勵志紀錄片的樣貌,但努力地捕捉到選手和教練之間的現實處境與壓力問題,忠實地呈現了在訓練過程中各種情況發生,反映出「舉重」在台灣為不受重視的冷門運動,讓影片不是只有熱血激昂的勵志內容,而是有更多的思考與質疑。

Heavy barbells are lifted up and down in a limited space. People who lift up these 100 or so kilogram barbells are merely junior and senior high school students, and the youngest one is even only in elementary now. What is the meaning of weightlifting to these young weightlifters? What supports them living together in the dormitory away from home and taking the hard training day after day? And what forces the two coaches devote their whole life to helping and training these 16 children? Let’s see how they counterattack the gravity!

《暑假》Summer Vacation

“整個暑假,我都和孩子們混在一起。有時我也搞不清楚,究竟我只是他們的司機,還是他們帶領著我,去認識他們的世界。而當一個百無聊賴又不甚愉快的暑假過去,我不確定他們是否都有所成長,但我想我們都更認識了這個世界。”

影片透過導演個人觀點,寫實呈現一對原住民青少年兄弟的日常生活。導演貼近被攝者的紀錄方式,讓鏡頭旁觀卻又時而不自覺中流露出關心,青春生命在攝影機前後均現出虛無及孤寂。這是部沉靜的影像中,帶有作者觀點印記的紀錄影片。

I spent the whole summer hanging out with these kids. Sometimes I wondered whether I was only playing the role of driver or they were leading me into their world. The past summer vacation was listless and unpleasant. I was not sure that they had become more mature, but I am positive that we have all learned more about this world.

In 2005, Taiwan Power Company planed to construct another power plant in Changhua County in response to economic development requirements. When the plan became public, environmentalists in Changhua immediately organized the “Anti Changhua Power Plant Alliance”. It attempted to prevent the construction that would seriously endanger people’s health and severely impact the environment. There’s still a long way to go but these protectors of the environmental are getting tired and helpless. Will the people’s movements get any responses from the public?

2006年1月13日晚上,秉璋放假回外公家過夜,親人卻在隔天早上發現秉璋猝死在床上,家人在得知情況已成無力回天之時,強忍哀痛決定將孩子安排捐贈器官和大體之事。

影片透過秉璋的家人經歷大體啟用、入殮、火化等一次次的送別過程之中,傳達出這一家人是如何面對死亡,並轉化逝去的哀痛,延續生命的意義。導演以細膩且感性的方式,來處理逝者與家人之間的深刻親子情感,間接帶出生死價值及意義的紀錄影片。

The story of the film “Family” occurred on the night of January 13, 2006 when John visited his grandfather’s house during a weekend holiday. The next morning, he was found to have passed away during the night. After being informed of John’s death, his family decided to put their sorrow aside and donate John’s organs and body. The filming process for “Family” followed the body’s donation to anatomy class, casketing, cremation and John’s family need to say goodbye to him gradually and face the transformation of sorrow and pain after his death into a meaningful extension of John’s life.

蔡瑭仙,高雄人。國立臺南藝術大學音像紀錄研究所畢業。目前為獨立紀錄片工作者,希望從拍攝紀錄片的過程與被攝者互動的經驗中,感受豐富的人生風景。

Tsai Tang-Hsien was born in Kaohsiung, graduated from the Graduate Institute of Sound and Image Studies in Documentary, Taiwan National University of the Arts. Ms. Tsai, now lives with five cats and two dogs in Tainan and enjoys cooking, an independent documentary film worker, regards the filming process as an opportunity to interact with those being filmed that helps her to enjoy the rich landscape of life.

《掩埋》Buried

1976年的唐山大地震發生前,唐山的地震工作者和北京的地震專家都曾發出過臨震警告,希望當時中國官方可以重視此預測,但因當時政府對地震漏報的漠視態度,最終唐山大地震卻以超過24萬人的生命被掩埋為代價。2008年汶川大地震約10萬生命被掩埋,人類一次又一次地重複著悲劇的發生。

本片以科學影片的形式,通過採訪事件當事者,運用大量的訪談與史料再現的方式,詳細再現了當年唐山大地震的預測和漏報經過。仔細求證的過程中,同時也暴露出官僚系統僵化無法應變的缺失。

The documentary film “Buried” uses a factual and objective viewpoint to revisit, with a commitment to truth and depth that buried piece of history that is the Great Tangshan Earthquake. It wants to find the unknown truth, suffering, and bitterness of how many people were actually buried, and it might expose a much higher number of deaths. Regardless of whether we confirm or deny, the truth can never be buried, history will exist forever. 到2009年4月,正好六十歲的龔鳳海就要退休了。他聽說北京對退休返京的孤寡老人有廉租房的政策,於是打算在春節期間回一趟北京,到他的兄弟姐妹家看看,順便瞭解一下申請廉租房的手續。2009年2月5日,龔鳳海踏上了西安開往北京的火車,那個熟悉而又陌生故鄉,會以一種什麼姿態來迎接闊別了六年之久的遊子…

影片透過一位因文化大革命而從北京下鄉至陝西的老知青,他即將退休的老年生活之點滴,道出了平凡人物隨著時代的變遷而起落,更顯得為理念犧牲奉獻的背後,人的卑微渺小與無能為力。本片成功地將被攝者的大半人生際遇凸顯於厚重的歷史背景之前,直視著時代前進腳步的巨大和無常,吞沒了生命與青春歲月,不勝唏噓。

Zhang Tian-Hui was born in Fujian in 1982. He used to be a web designer, a graphic designer, and a substitute teacher in elementary school. His major course is cinematography in Department of Cinematography in Beijing Film Academy since2006. His documentary, The 7th Medical Ward, awarded the Best Students Short Film in the 5th China Independent Film Festival, the First Prize for the Best Documentary in College Students DV Production Award, and also be selected in the shortlist of Chinese Documentary Film Festival (Hong Kong) in 2008.

甘肅省古浪縣黃羊川鎮是乾旱少雨,自然條件惡劣的地區。馬秉成是當地受人尊重的鄉村醫生。在他狹小的私人診所裡,,每天都有很多前來求醫的尋常農民。在等待看病或抓藥時,人們總會談起各自的生活,以及當地人事物的現狀。他們的疾病,也時常帶有其生活經歷的烙印。

馬大夫的狹小診所成為一個開放的空間,一個窗口。每天來到這裡的人們,將各自的資訊和體驗彙聚在一起,從而勾勒出農民生活的基本境遇,老一輩人和新一代人也在這裡產生了聯繫。黃羊川農民的這種處境並不特殊,而是在中國的每個農村裏,都具有廣泛的普遍性。

本片在長度215分鐘的過程中,長鏡頭的影像語言,緩慢與瑣碎節奏的農村生活紀錄,讓影片的不精準及不修飾,反成為了當代中國農民的艱難處境之最直接紀錄。導演的鏡頭凝視著診所內的每位求診民眾,眾人的日常閒聊與神情姿態,個人肉體的疾病痛苦,讓小診所成為生命交流的中心象徵。無數吉光片羽的紀錄畫面,點滴匯聚成廣闊的中國農民群像,以及當代中國農村的現況。

Huangyangchuan town, Gulang county, Gansu province, China. It’s a place of arid mountain area with poor traffic conditions. Ma Bingcheng is a respected local doctor. Due to his good medical skills, many patients (most of them are farmers) come to see him every day. In this narrow and small clinic, when people wait for seeing doctor or making up prescription, they usually chat with each others about their lives, local conditions, or the experience of people they know. This narrow country clinic becomes an open space, the information and experiences of different people who came to the clinic intertwine together, thus reveal the living conditions of local farmers.

Cong Feng, born in Chengde, Hebie Province in 1972 , Cong Feng worked at the National Satellite Meteorological Center from 1995 to 2000. He served as a culture editor of a weekly newspaper, the International Herald Leader from 2002 to 2005.A collection of his poetry, Invisible Train, was published in 2002, and his photographs were selected for the New Chinese Photography section of the Pingyao International Photography Festival the same year. In 2006, Masmediacspoeshitry, a long poem, was published by SubJam Studio. Cong began making documentary films in 2005.

妞妞是個才剛滿20歲的女孩。在北京打工時,她是個絕不與客人動感情的性工作者;在家鄉農忙時,她是個幫重病父親下田收割麥子的農家女兒。女孩的兩種生活方式,宛如在兩個世界之間遊走。父親的病情持續惡化,住進大醫院,生存的負擔又更加荷重;妞妞賺到的所有錢都給了父親病床旁的母親,只留下一百塊錢給自己,打算再回北京。但家中的麥子田又需要人手翻土播種,她不知道還需要在家鄉多留幾天,才能回北京繼續賺下一筆錢。

影片難得能以攝影機,直接貼近一位在北京從事性工作的年輕女孩,冷靜旁觀的鏡頭,紀錄著女孩在妓女與農家女兒的兩種身分中奔走互換,在兩種截然不同的處境中求生存,卻有著不願輕易被擊倒的強悍性格。女孩直率不迴避地談論起她工作內容時的坦然,奮力對抗現實生活接踵而來之逆境與險惡的勇氣,都讓這部是為充滿紀錄片倫理爭議,卻又處處可見人性中之黑暗與堅韌生命力的影片。

In June the wheat tips are beginning to turn yellow. She comes back from Beijing to her hometown in Hebei, to find her father lying in bed with an IV and her mother out at the market. It appears that this is the way life always is. We see this country girl of barely 20 years old shows us a corner of her life as a prostitute. She gives all of her money to her family to pay for her father’s medical costs, keeping only 100RMB to get back to Beijing. Time flies by, and soon her family’s wheat is ready to harvest, but it has been raining for days on end, making it impossible to begin…

呂文忠 成長於台灣北部鄉下,畢業於美國加州藝術學院。參與《機械雞 Robot Chicken 》、《積克尋寶記 FlapJack 》、《古怪小廚師 Chowder 》 等動畫影集的製作。動畫作品《鞋子》、《馬戲團團長》、《神秘的鋼琴》及《蕃茄醬》,皆入圍多項國際影展;曾獲得由「台灣國際動畫影展」主辦的「台灣動畫金獎」,以及入圍第33屆「美國學生奧斯卡金像獎」。

Lu Wen-chung, during his four years of school at CalArts, he made several major short films including “The Shoes”, “ The Ringmaster”, “ Secret Piano” and “ Ketchup.” All of them received a variety of film festival recognition around the world including the Golden Award in the Taiwan International Animation Festival and a finalist in the 33rd Student Academy Awards in the United States. In 2008 he graduated from CalArts and continued pursuing his career in animation. In the short time after graduating he was already working in several major studios, on projects such as Robot Chicken, FlapJack and Chowder.

Li Nan studied fine arts from childhood and have great interest in design and movie. During college time, he won the scholarships of the university and department many times, and had been granted The Excellent Student Leader. He was elected as a Three Good Student of the province in 2004, and then entered the Animation School of Communication University of China to study animation under the professor Lu Shengzhang. Work<OLE> won Best Digital Composition of the 3rd China International “Golden Monkey” Original Animation & Cartoon Award, 2007.

在恐懼屋裡,人人都有害怕的事物—一間小牙醫診所裡面,有個不喜歡看牙醫,偏偏又牙痛的警察,有對正在逃亡的搶匪,還有個害怕搶匪的牙醫,每個人都有害怕的事物在這屋子裡。充滿戲劇張力的密閉式空間,緊繃著每位故事人物的神經,全都在一間牙醫診所裡展開。

本片劇情有著絕妙的人物關係及互動,官兵與強盜的權力位置改變,帶來意想不到的荒謬和趣味性。整片的牙疼與拔牙之隱喻,在影片黑色幽默的調性中充分地發揮。

In Panic House, everyone has his own fear— an intriguing story happens in a small dentist clinic in which an ill-tempered cop, who hates to see dentist but happens to have an aching tooth, mistakes the male absconding robber for the dentist.  The fake dentist then has to perform the tooth-extraction though he does not have any slightest idea of how, while the kidnapped dentist, scared of robbers, is desperately calling for the cop’s rescue. Each of them has their own fear in this house.

賴孟傑,台北藝術大學電影創作研究所導演組,擔任過短片及紀錄片、廣告作品的導演工作。其短片作品《紅色高跟鞋》獲得第三十屆金穗獎優等獎,《恐懼屋》獲得2009台北電影節最佳劇情短片獎。

Vic Cheng, born in 1984, graduated from NTUA graduate school of motion picture. He is good at handling film-noir genre, black comedy and strange movie style and atmosphere. In 2008, You are not alone was awarded as Outstanding Asian Student Film at Beijing International Student Film Festival and Best New Director at South Taiwan Film Festival. Also, It was nominated for Best Short Films at 31th Golden Harvest Award and 16th Beijing Student Film Festival. Except keeping writing and making film, he also makes visual design as a work.

《新年快樂》Happy New Year

影片改編自紅毛港居民真實生活經驗,是台灣青年導演獨立製片電影中,少見關注於社會現實的題材,並以寫實手法和誠懇態度為社會底層百姓發聲,傳達出邊緣人物以及弱勢族群所面臨的處境和心情。

A small village in Southern Taiwan is going to be disappeared absolutely. Due to the urgent expanding of Kaohsiung Harbor, the government proposed to move the village. A-zheng lives with his grandfather who defended the house resolutely. A-zheng could not convince him to leave this place where has rooted in their hearts. And A-wang, takes care of his father alone. His father has confined to his bed by sickness. About that time, unfortunately, he was dismissed from office by a reason of negligence.

In HongMao Harbor (San Domingo Harbor), no matter how these three people have so many different points of view. They all moved around, seeing residents gone and gone. This wonderland is vanishing. Cannot help thinking what course of tomorrow to them.

吳昱錡,出生於台灣,現就讀於世新廣播電視電影研究所。導演選擇將電影視為一種發聲的媒介,期許傳達更多台灣主流價值觀以外的聲音,讓電影也能夠擔負起些許的社會功能和責任。

本片的劇情設定獨特有創意,大膽以台灣傳統民間習俗為劇情的推手,在詭異陰森氣氛中,卻不斷有令人哭笑不得的黑色幽默,尖銳地剖出傳統家族中的女性地位,以及深藏其中揮之不去的暴力夢靨。

The story begins at the funeral ceremony for a mother who died at the age of seventy. The youngest daughter of the family has been dreaming about her dead mother for nights. In her dream, the dead mother expresses her will of not to be buried next her dead husband. On the seventh night after her death, the hidden past of the family was finally revealed. The youngest daughter, who came home with her own daughter, starts to wonder how to take control of her own destiny…

The father, who always likes to have his own freedom, went out as usual, then Xin-ting took care of her mother. One morning, Xin-ting was awakening by the alarm clock. Then she went to her mother’s room to message, pump out the sputum, and let she drink water. When she went to school, she would ask the nurse to take care of her mom. One day, a woman whose face has a slight bruise came to their house. She shouted over and over to look for Zhuang Ban-lin. 小闖和小北是一對懷著淘金夢,到大城市打工的鄉下姐弟。而城市中的一批青年藝術家們,卻是寄食於一家小飯館,希望一天自己被發掘的夢想得以實現。但是大城市飛速的建設發展,跟不上的人就會被拋棄,或是徒留在原地打滾……。

這一年,炎熱的夏季終於下雨了,雨中一切事情彷彿終要有個了結…。

本片中,敘述著到城市打工卻逐漸迷失方向的青年,以及藝術家渴望出名財富但只有滿腹牢騷。在這兩個不同的社會階層,隱喻著中國在資本主義發展的過程中,眾人汲汲營利的同時,個人靈魂的失去與無奈。

As a couple of sister and brother who are from countryside, Xiao Chuang and Xiao Bei come to Beijing to earn money. Some young artists go to Beijing and live a good life, some change their professions to earn their living, others are in an embarrassing situation; Lao Feng, the best friend of the boss of a restaurant, leaves his camera at the restaurant to repay a debt. A young painter named Ye Chao, borrows the camera to photograph paintings cause he wants to participate in an art exhibition, but finally this young painter is refused again by the organizer. When Ye Chao is wandering around the streets, he meets Xiao Bei, the two young people then spend a night together. After the painter wakes up the next morning, he finds himself alone in the room, and his camera is lost. It finally starts raining in summer, everything seems to end up.

趙凱,陝西西安美術學院油畫系學生。為了拍攝第一部電影,他寫劇本,為了經費畫壁畫,找朋友借機器,請同學當演員,學習剪輯。2008年7月《長安人民公社》完成。

Zhao Kai, born in 1980s, he was accepted by Xi’an Academy of Fine Arts—-after all, there is the gap between aspiration and reality. During his first year of college, Zhao Kai watched many different movies, and he was fascinated. He then started to make his first film when he was a sophomore—-writing screenplay, painting murals to collect money, borrowing equipments, looking for actors, learning how to edit. In July 2008, Zhao Kai’s first movie was finished.
